A self-portrait made of encounters.
Over two days in November 2025, Nicolae Comănescu painted portraits of the people who visited his studio. The exhibition brings together the traces of those encounters: an image of the artist formed through others.
Intense colours, layered surfaces and an accumulation of faces turn the rooms of Casa Maria Lahovary into a collective portrait. The project marks 25 years since the end of the Rostopasca group’s activity.
Organised by MARe/Museum of Recent Art in partnership with H’art Gallery and /SAC Contemporary Art Space. The works were made as part of the Rostopasca programme, initiated by the Hearth/Casa KERIM association.
Dates from published documentation and the gallery’s list are preserved separately.
